The 90s was a time of brightly coloured neon, parachute pants and various other things we would like to wipe from our ageing minds. Sony has announced that it will be bringing back one iconic piece of the 90s, semi-transparent PlayStation controllers.
Sony has announced that it is releasing the new semi-transparent crystal collection DualShock 4 controllers in October 2017. The new controllers will be based on the new DS4 models, which include the small second light bar above the touchpad and extended battery life.
The controllers will be available in three colours, red, white (crystal) and blue. These new controllers have only been confirmed for EU regions (excluding Russia), who will receive the white (crystal) version and the US who will be getting all three. Each of the three colour variants will be exclusive to certain retailers, white to GameStop, red to Best Buy and blue to Wallmart, and will cost $64.99 each.
Asking price of $64.99 for a controller this long after the systems’ release is absolutely outrageous
