Created by Jon Favreau, the series is set five years after Return of the Jedi and 25 years prior to The Force Awakens. The story follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin who is protecting a highly coveted Jedi-powered being, called The Child (aka Baby Yoda), from falling into the hands of the Imperial Empire.
Season one ended with The Mandalorian leaving with The Child, in search of the creature’s home planet. And although the plot for season two remains a mystery, fans can expect to see a few new faces including Rosario Dawson as Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, and Timothy Olyphant in some capacity.
They join the show’s returning stars, Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi and Ming-Na Wen.
But it gets better!
Star Wars fans can look forward to even more Baby Yoda in the future. As reported by Variety earlier this year, the series is in pre-production for a third season and showrunner, Jon Favreau is said to have been writing the season for a while.
Season one of The Mandalorian is currently available for streaming on Disney+. Additionally, you can check out Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which gives fans an in-depth behind the scenes look at everything that goes into creating the show.
