Scott Eastwood Would Like To Be The Next Wolverine

The dust has barely settled and we’ve already had a long list of actors who would love to take over Hugh Jackman’s role as Wolverine after Logan. One of those interested happens to be a fan favourite, Scott Eastwood.

20th Century Fox chairman and CEO Stacey Snider recently revealed that the studio is open to the idea of rebooting Wolverine with a new actor down the line. However, since it’s barely been six months since Jackman’s retirement, it probably won’t be very soon. Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans from suggesting their favourites. One of the names mentioned a few times in fan casts has been Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood. Turns out, the 31-year-old actor would like a crack at Wolverine.

While at New York Comic-Con to promote his new movie Pacific Rim: Uprising, Eastwood spoke with Comicbook.com, who asked him what superhero he’d like to play in an upcoming film. He enthusiastically replied:

“Weapon X. I mean, Logan! You gotta give it to Wolverine! Wolverine, all day.”

Should the baton be passed on to Eastwood? We’re not sure. Those are really big boots to fill. Besides all that, Eastwood is currently tied up in the DCEU as Lieutenant GQ Edwards from Suicide Squad. That said, Wolverine is by far the most famous of the X-Men. He’ll probably be back on screen soon and Eastwood certainly isn’t a bad choice.

Isn’t there a clause in the Marvel movies actors contracts that prevent the stars from also being in DC movies?

Hhhmmm, he’s the right age, rugged good looks. But isn’t he a tad too short? I’d like to see Scott play the role over some skinny young punk. I fear they will choose someone that is too “pretty”.

Too short? Wolverine is 5’3″ in the comics. The codename Wolverine was dubbed because Logan is short.

didn’t know that. Always took him for like 6ft.

Yup Wolverine is supposed to be short. Hugh Jackman was a perfect wolverine. But he was too tall. But we all let it slide haha.

They also do cinematography tricks to make people look taller as well so….its cool with the height

Yep, Logan broke the mold for comic book heroes. Short, stocky and was actually drawn more rugged, wild man and less attractive, pretty boy back in the day. His apparent age should be 40ish even though he’s far older. He was created smaller, the underdog, but not afraid of predators way bigger than him. Real Wolverines will hold their own against Grizzly Bears… 😆

Danny Trejo is super short and they made him taller than everyone else in the machete movies.

Too short? The original wolverine is 5’3” Hugh wasn’t casted because of how tall he is, but because he looked the part that is now iconic.

    • Matty Logan Bats says:

Hugh was good, but was waaaaaaaay too tall, he’s all legs lol. At least they tried to make him look shorter with camera angles and having other actors wear platform shoes.

    • Stephen Gaze says:

Eastwood would look the part I think though my personal choice is Luke Evans.
We’re not going to find a suitable 5ft3 actor realistically so like Jackman I think it’s something we’ve got to make our peace with

He’s shorter than Hugh, which is good. If they grizzled him up a bit, I guess he’d be an alright choice. Needs to be less pretty and more rugged like his old man.
