In recent weeks, Samsung has been plagued by a number of strategic leaks, building up to the release of the Galaxy Note 9. It is rumoured that the leaks weren’t mere ‘accidents’. Be that as it may, the last week has also made way for a new rumour soon after the official Note 9 launch on Thursday, 9 August 2018. For as long as we can remember, Samsung has been at work attempting to commercialise its folding screen. The moment may have arrived.
In an interesting turn of events, Samsung CEO, DJ Koh, confirmed that the rumours are true, and the company is working on a folding display known as the Galaxy F. This confirmation could make way for release of one of the most outrageous smartphone to date, paving the way for a game-changing moment in the smartphone industry. Koh went onto explain that Samsung is “focusing on developing innovations that will be genuinely accepted and liked by consumers.” In addition to this, it also appears that the company does not wish to lose to its rivals also competing for the title of first company to release a commercial product for the folding device. This will not be a one time release either, with Koh stating that “we wouldn’t have started [this project] if it was a going to be a one-time thing.”
Consumers can expect quite a number of new devices hitting the market soon, from smartphones that convert into smart watches, and many other interesting concepts. Below are examples of the Galaxy F concept design by NieuweMobiel.
