Love it or hate it, but there is little denying that Ready at Dawn’s PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886 was a beautiful looking game that set up an interesting world and mythology. It’s just a shame that the game was let down by it’s uninspired and repetitive gameplay. It seems that the developer might be working on a sequel that could release on the Playstation 5.
The Order: 1886 sequel rumours come via a NeoGAF post, which alleges that a sequel to the game is in the works and that the plan is to release it alongside the PlayStation 5.
The person behind the post, OsirisBlack, also previously accurately posted details about the PlayStation 4 Pro before its official release.
In his post, they mention that the saw a gameplay trailer for a game that featured a man wearing some kind of shoulder-mounted light-emitting device. The man is busy surveying a room before he is attacked by a yellow-eyed creature. The creature goes on to taunt the man singing the words ‘I’ve found you’ before the trailer ends.
OsirisBlack mentions that this is a section from the game that will be present in the final product.
It surely sounds like it could be a trailer for a game based in the world of The Order, but as with all rumours, this should be taken lightly. It has been confirmed that developer Ready at Dawn has been working on a new AAA-game and with the release of Sony’s next console around the corner, I would make sense for the game to be released on the Playstation 5. Whether it’s a sequel to The Order: 1886 is unclear, although we would love to return to the game’s world to face off against werewolves and other dangers.
To be honest, although many would not expect the poorly received game to receive a sequel, games like Rage 2 and Knack 2 proves that sometimes sequels do come along unexpectedly, even if gamers aren’t asking for them.
