Last year we reported that Netflix was working hard on a reboot of Reboot, the 90s’ cutting-edge CGI animated series created by Gavin Blair, John Grace, Phil Mitchell and Ian Pearson. Of course, many people thought it was a terrible idea. And they were right. Reboot: The Guardian Code is nothing like the original show.
The original ReBoot was a 90’s TV series that followed a group of Guardians, Bob, and his companions Enzo and Dot Matrix, as they were tasked with protecting the Mainframe from threats – evil viruses like Megabyte and Hexadecimal who are hell-bent on destroying it. The show was known for its revolutionary 3D animated graphics that astounded kids at the time. The remake, however, is completely different. While the original series was completely CG with no human actors appearing on-screen, the new show blends live-action and CG-animation. The result is something more like Power Rangers than ReBoot.
