Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the Steven Spielberg directed movie Ready Player One and it’s filled with loads of pop-culture references.
Ready Player One is a film based on Ernest Cline’s best-selling novel and takes place in a future where the only way to escape the troubles of everyday life is to enter a virtual world called the OASIS. In the OASIS people can be what ever they want which include racing around in De Loreans, battling Freddy Kreuger or just hanging out with the Iron Giant.
The story follows Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) as he takes on the challenge set by the creator of the OASIS, James Halliday, to find an Easter egg he left inside the virtual world. The first one to discover this Easter egg will inherit Halliday’s entire fortune and corporation.
It’s already clear from the trailer that the film will feature loads of references for movie-goers to find when it releases in 2018. Could you spot all the pop-culture references in the trailer?
