EW has released the first image of Mr. Robot actor Rami Malek as Queen’s iconic frontman Freddie Mercury for the upcoming Bohemian Rhapsody film and the resemblance is truly uncanny.

The first photograph of Malek as Freddie was released on what would have been the singer’s 71st birthday. Malek, who replaced Sacha Baron Cohen, is working hard to transform himself into the legend and deliver a convincing performance as one of music’s biggest stars.
The film is being directed by Bryan Singer, who is probably best known for his work on the X-Men franchise. According to Singer, the film won’t be a dark tale but rather a celebration of the life of the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ singer:
“It won’t just be the dark Freddie story, but that being said, that also will be honoured. It’s about collaboration. It’s a celebration.”
