Another year has passed and we’re back at rAge in 2017. As always, the Ticketpro Dome was the venue for all the proceedings, which opened its doors to the public on Friday, 6th October 2017, at 10am. The hype was there for all to see, as lines extended for quite a distance ahead of the opening of the event over the course of the weekend.
The event showcased the usual big players coming out in full force with new games, console updates and the likes. Triple A games have always been the biggest draw at rAge in previous years, and 2017 was no different with the titles such as Forza Motorsport 7, Assassins Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, Call of Duty: WWII, the soon to be released, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and always a fan favourite, FIFA 18.
A noticeable trend on the floor this year was the number of manufacturers on show around the venue. In previous years, the Dome had always been dominated by Sony and Microsoft with their respective consoles, but there’s been a slight shift in recent years as tech giants such as Acer, HP, Asus, and Alienware showcasing their respective gaming brands in the country in the form of gaming laptops.
Another favourite among the crowd was the Blue Wing, which hosted a number of private stalls with items such as hoodies, caps, masks, figurines, as well as the stage for the Cosplay battles.
