PUMA and Selena Gomez have rejoined for another venture this holiday season. The duo teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind assortment of, aimed to give women strength stitched into every piece. The SG X PUMA collection is inspired by Selena’s initials, and the first drop from the collection is titled Strong Girl.
The collection features two new silhouettes in the form of the PUMA Defy Mid X SG and PUMA SG Runner. Both silhouettes feature confident colours and bold finishes with the intention of helping girls stand out from the crowd. The silhouettes are combined with a mix of well-thought balance of femininity and modern edge, sports and fashion. The collection offers girls various tastes and styles across the two silhouettes and apparel, both the strong girl’s personality, as well as her day-to-day hustles.
Starting with the SG Runner, one of the most important pieces within the collection, the sneaker is designed and constructed by Selena herself, and beautifully blends her personal style with PUMA classic court and running shoes. The silhouette is a lightweight piece with a knitted upper, high rebound EVA and great fit. The SG Runner is a throwback to the styles of the 80s and 90s with beautiful design touches that give it an easy, LA vibe. The DEFY story continues with the addition of the DEFY Mid X SG to the collection. The silhouette is a bootie-cut training shoe, which features a black metal buckle, a rose-gold plated chain, as well as a textured knitted upper.
The “Strong Girl” collection aims to empower women to stand out from the crowd. The SG x PUMA “Strong Girl” collection is set to drop globally on 12 December 2018. South Africans can get their hands on the sneakers and apparel at PUMA stores and independent retailers.
