Double Fine boss Tim Schafer and project lead Zak McCledon have released a new video showcasing the gameplay of the highly anticipated Psychonauts 2.
The Psychonauts 2 gameplay footage shows off some of the games gorgeous visuals, while Tim Schafer discusses some of the game’s story elements. They also discuss some of the improvements that were made, especially to the lead protagonist Raz’s movement. And while the environments in the footage are test environments there is no doubt that the game already looks amazing. We can’t wait to step back into the twisted world of Psychonauts.
As part of Double Fine’s deal with Starbreeze, the Payday publisher will handle marketing and distribution for the game, which raised $3.8m of backer funds using the funding platform Fig. The original game came out in 2005 to much acclaim. It was re-released on PS4 last year, while a VR adaptation called Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is due to launch on PS4 later in February.
