Each new day brings with it fresh new rumours about Sony’s PlayStation 5 console. The latest of these rumours seem to indicate the specs for the console, and if these prove true the PS5 will be quite a beast.
As with all rumours regarding the PlayStation 5, this should be taken with a huge grain of salt. That said, the rumours come via the SemiAccurate website who have been correct in the past with leaked information about the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. This does lend some credibility to the rumours but, even still, these rumours are merely just rumours for now.
SemiAccurate claims that the next generation Sony console will continue to use AMD products. According to the leaked information, the console will use the AMD Navi as it’s base architecture with the AMD Zen for its CPU. The console is also said to have VR capabilities built directly into it.
Along with the details about the console’s specs, the website once again confirmed what previous rumours have suggested: PlayStation 5 devkits have already been sent out to various lucky developers. Of course, this could indicate that the rumoured release date of late 2018 early 2019 could be correct.
Another aspect that has many PlayStation fans excited is the possibility that the console will be backwards compatible with PlayStation 4 games. Many feel that this is one feature that a new Sony console needs to include.
Many are expecting Sony to make some sort of announcement at this year’s PSX or next year’s E3 as chances are slim that anything will be revealed at this year’s E3.
Are you ready for the PlayStation 5 or are you still happy with the PlayStation 4?
