With the arrival of the PlayStation 5 confirmed for the end of 2020, it was only a matter of time before more and more leaks of Sony’s next console started surfacing. The latest leaked images could give us an idea of what the console could look like when it finally launches.
As you might remember, a while back images of a Sony patent surfaced showing what seemed like the PlayStation 5. The images showed off a strangely V-shaped console covered in various ventilation holes. While many took these images with a grain of salt, this was a patent after all and not official images, new images could suggest that this could indeed be the shape of Sony’s next console.
An image popped up on YouTube channel Zone of Tech that resembles the V-shaped drawing found in the Sony patent. The strangely shaped console is referred to as one of the Dev kits Sony sent out to developers.
On the front of the console there clearly is an optical drive as well as a bunch of buttons and USB ports. The shape also supposedly helps with cooling the unit, which, according to information from Sony, packs some powerful hardware. The console also has the phrase ‘Not for sale’ on the front as well as ‘Prototype 1’. There isn’t much more to the images besides showing us that the new PlayStation could indeed have the same weird shape shown in the patent drawings.
Now, it’s important to note that Dev kits and the final consumer-friendly product rarely resemble each other. This means that the final product could look completely different from the image above.
So, what do you think? Would you like it if the PlayStation 5 stuck to the V-shaped design or would you prefer something completely different?
