Although the sequel to Pillars of Eternity it is yet to be officially announced, Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart has all but confirmed that the game is currently in development.
While being interviewed by GamePressure Feargus Urquhart had the following to say regarding the sequel to Pillars of Eternity:
“Obviously, as you’ve probably guessed, we’re starting to move forward on [Pillars of] Eternity II. Eternity II is not announced, [but] it seems silly for me not to acknowledge it,”
In the interview, Urquhart also revealed that the studio might once again make use of crowdfunding for the sequel.
Pillars of Eternity was released on the 26th of March 2015 and was the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed series, Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, and was met with positive reviews upon release. The game was also one of the highest funded crowdsourced games at the time.
I’m really excited for the sequel and can’t wait to return to the world of Eora, sword in hand ready to vanquish any foe.
