Activision Blizzard has teamed up with several toy makers to create merchandise and toys based on their popular Overwatch game.
The deal was reached between Activision Blizzard, LEGO and Hasbro to help develop new lines of toys based on the popular gaming property. While LEGO will be working on new Overwatch-themed LEGO sets, Hasbro will be developing new figures toys and a line of their Nerf guns brand. LEGO has indicated that it is planning multiple sets based on the first person shooter. Along with the announcement, Activision Blizzard also revealed that it signed a deal with Uniqlo for apparel.
Now, I know what your next question will be, “When will these awesome toys and merchandise hit the store shelves?” Sadly, Activision Blizzard hasn’t yet revealed when this will happen, but we are hoping that this will happen soon.
Overwatch has been growing steadily over the past two years since it’s release and even lead to the creation of a new esports league. The game is celebrating it’s two-year anniversary this month and it seems that Activision Blizzard is planning to keep the growing the property as much as they can. The game’s official anniversary event has already kicked off and will continue until the 11th of June 2018.
