Fox Studios has released the trailer for the PG-13 version of Deadpool 2, conveniently titled Once Upon a Deadpool. Unfortunately, while the trailer shows that the less intense film looks like a load of fun, fans on this side of the planet won’t be able to enjoy it just yet.
After leading two violent, R-rated movies that expanded the superhero genre, Deadpool is coming clean and setting aside his trademark vulgarity. For the first time, those younger than 16 can fully enjoy Reynolds’ shenanigans.
Sadly, there are currently no plans to bring Once Upon a Deadpool to theatres in South Africa. That means we won’t get to see the Merc with the Mouth reading a Christmas story to Fred Savage come December 12th.
“Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Ryan Reynolds recently stated in an interview. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”
