Ewan McGregor returns as the icon Star Wars Jedi Master in the first trailer for Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. After months of rumours, news and updates, Lucasfilm has finally revealed what we can come to expect from the series. And, oh boy, the force is strong with this one!
“The fight is done. We lost. Stay hidden,” the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer begins. Our protagonist (now the protector of the Skywalker children) looks over Tatooine at a young boy — who we can only assume is a young Luke Skywalker.
“The key to hunting Jedi is patience,” says the ominous and fearsome Grand Inquisitor in the teaser. He leads a group of Jedi-hunters seeking to find those who escaped the great Jedi purge that was Order 66.
“Jedi cannot help what they are. Their compassion leaves a trail. The Jedi code is like an itch. They cannot help it,” he continues as we see a spinning red lightsaber.
“The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader,” reads the official synopsis of the show (streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting on May 25). The series will run for six episodes.
