NetherRealm is known for including all kinds of pop culture characters in their fighting game rosters. We’ve seen Freddy Krueger duking it out against Jason and Alien‘s xenomorph go against the Predator, but the oddest inclusion yet has to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The latest trailer for Injustice 2 shows the lean, mean and green fighting machines in action as the Turtles take on foes ranging from Darkseid to Brainiac. Players will be able to choose between one of the four heroes in a half shell, each with their own distinct move set, powers and special moves. During combat, players will be able to summon their brother’s to their aid as part of the various special moves.
Some of the cooler special moves include Michelangelo flip kicking his hoverboard into his opponent, Leonardo getting his slice and dice on and the brothers finishing off Atrocious with a Shellshock team move.
Watching the trailer will make you wish NetherRealm was developing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting game.
Judging from the trailer, the Turtles are just as fast, loud, over-the-top and radical as we’ve come to expect. We can’t wait to get some hands-on time with them. Cowabunga!
