The latest Valkyria Chronicles 4 trailer shows off some of the game’s new features, which will drastically change the gameplay.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 while taking place in the same universe as the previous game, introducing players to a brand-new set of heroes. At first, it might seem that the game will be more of what we saw before, yet the latest entry into the franchise will be introducing a slew of new mechanics to change up the flow and pace of gameplay. One of these new changes comes in the form of the game’s new class, the Grenadier, which gives players the option to bombard their foes with mortar fire. APC now allows you to move troops across the battlefield for a very low cost, making the moving of troops a much more viable option. The trailer reveals some the game’s new features, with many of these adding more tactical options to combat players. I’ve always had a soft spot for the game’s mix of turn-based and third-person real-time action and found it to be a near-perfect blend of action and strategy.
As with the previous games, the visuals seem just as beautiful and striking as one would expect; it was this almost watercolour-like visual style that drew me to the franchise in the first place. We can’t wait to return to the game’s war-torn world and beat back our enemies.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set for release on the 25th of September for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
