A listing for a new Splinter Cell game on Amazon Canada might have just revealed a new game in the series.
While listing of a new Splinter Cell game, which has since been taken down, might just be a speculative placeholder, as Amazon listings tend to be kind of a hit and miss source of breaking news, it does line up with what Ubisoft Montreal’s CEO Yannis Mallat mention at E3 2017. Last year, he teased that a Splinter Cell revival might happen in the near future, with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot even commenting that they haven’t forgotten about the franchise.
There were also rumours in 2016 that Michela Ironside, the voice of Sam Fisher, was busy working on an undisclosed project at Ubisoft. Reports also suggest that Ubisoft have quite a few AAA titles in development and as we won’t likely see another Assassin’s Creed game this year. A new Splinter Cell game might actually be a possibility.
As always, these rumours are to be taken with a tiny grain of salt as beyond these few rumours there is very little to suggest that a new game in the franchise will be releasing soon. Hopefully, Ubisoft will reveal more about the Splinter Cell game at E3 2018.
