Ever since merging with Kalahari in 2015, Takealot has dominated the realm of online shopping in South Africa. But things are about to change in the coming months with the launch of a brand new online store, Everyshop.
Everyshop is the brainchild of the JD Group, a member of Pepkor Holdings which owns various high-profile retail chains in South Africa. The company currently offers local shoppers a wide range of technology products, computers, appliances, gadgets, household goods and furniture through their brick and mortar stores across the country.
This includes popular retail chains like Incredible Connection, HiFi Corp, Rochester, Sleepmasters, Bradlows, and more. These stores are supported through a comprehensive national network of 16 distribution centres that deliver items directly to their customers via their own logistics fleet and/or courier partners.
However, as more shoppers have drifted toward the convenience of online shopping, the company had to look for new ways to keep their customers happy.
In keeping with the group’s current brand identity, Everyshop will offer local consumers a wide range of technology products, computers, and appliances. But in order to diversify its product range, the online store will also carry additional items, brands, and categories not offered through their current retail channels.
Dubbed as a one-stop shopping experience, Everyshop aims to give customers a uniquely tailored departmental shopping experience that can leverage the JD Group’s e-commerce, logistics, and fulfilment capabilities.
While the company could not provide an official launch date for Everyshop at this time, they are expected to make an official announcement next month.
