Developer Crystal Dynamics released some brand new information about their upcoming game Marvel’s Avengers.
During the Marvel’s Avengers Livestream, Crystal Dynamics unveiled more about the game’s story, single-player mode and multiplayer.
The first thing the team revealed is that Taskmaster, who featured heavily in previous trailers for the game, is actually not the main villain. This honour goes to the big head in the floaty chair, MODOK, who features in the newly released story trailer.
Of course, this means that players will face off against the organisation A.I.M (Advanced Idea Mechanics) and there hoards of robotic soldiers.
The story trailer also sheds more light on Kamala Khan’s journey to reunite a fractured Avengers.
Crystal Dynamics also revealed more about the game’s co-op War Zones, which are cooperative missions that take place in various open areas and dense interiors.
Players will be able to customise their Avenger before taking them on these missions with friends. The trailer gives us a few glimpses of the games customisation options, which will also consist of unlockable skins. These will also be available to purchase in the game’s marketplace.
War zone missions will see players teaming up with various factions in the Marvel Universe, such as the Inhumans and SHIELD. As players complete missions, they will be able to upgrade their base of operations, which is a downed Helicarrier.
We are hoping that as the story progresses, the Helicarrier will eventually take to the skies.
It was also revealed that Marvel’s Avengers will be playable on the next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Players who bought the current-gen versions will be getting a free next-gen upgrade.
