Indie survival horror game Daymare: 1998 has a new trailer that, undoubtedly, has a Resident Evil vibe.
The >Daymare: 1998 trailer focuses on the game’s creepy environments. From what we can tell, it would seem a gas/virus has been released causing a lot of deaths. We get a quick flash of what might be an enemy (if that enemy is a zombie or some kind of infected being).
Invader Studios, the team behind the game, was also working on a Resident Evil 2 remake before requests from Capcom stopped development. It is quite clear that the time spent on the remake has given them a lot of inspiration for their new game. The game is currently heading to PC, although no release date has been announced.
“The game features high-end graphics, original soundtrack, immersive atmosphere, hardcore survival mechanics and many connections with the beloved old school survival horror games and ’90s landmark brands,” says the YouTube video description. It’s being developed on the Unreal Engine 4, with an “artistic contribution” from former Capcom designer Satoshi Nakai.
