NetherRealm has revealed two more characters who will be suiting up to join the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.
The first character is Kabal, who was initially introduced back in Mortal Kombat 3 and last appeared in the Mortal Kombat reboot that released in 2011. Of course, it’s not really a big surprise that the dual hook sword-wielding ninja will be re-introduced in Mortal Kombat 11. He was briefly teased last month at the reveal event.
Along with the announcement, NetherRealm released a trailer showing just how deadly Kabal can be in combat. The Tusken Raider-inspired character has been described as a mid to long range fighter who can launch deadly projectiles or split foes open using his hook swords. The trailer sees Kabal beating various Mortal Kombat characters to a pulp before finally showcasing his brutal Fatality. NetherRealm’s Steve Brownback mentioned that he’ll be easier to pick up and play than in previous games.
Along with Kabal, NetherRealm also revealed that D’Vorah, the insect-like fighter from Mortal Kombat X, will also be joining the roster. Unfortunately, the developer didn’t release a gameplay trailer for her, but hopefully we will see her in action soon.
The two characters join a roster that includes Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Lui Kang, Raiden, Sonya Blade, Kano, Skarlet, Baraka, Kung Lao, and Shoa Khan. NetherRealm also officially denied that Shaggy from Scooby-Doo would make an appearance.
Mortal Kombat 11 will be releasing on the 23rd of April for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
