NERF has always tried to reinvent its blasters to include new and unique features. The newly released NERF Elite 2.0 Flip-16 Blaster, which uses a unique mechanism to reload, is their latest concept. But is this just another gimmick?
At first glance, the NERF Elite 2.0 Flip-16 might look like your standard blaster. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Basically, you load eight darts into the strangely shaped front-facing barrels of the blaster and then load another eight into the back facing barrels. By priming the leaver at the top, you can fire off either two of the front-facing darts at once or one at a time.
Once you run empty, you pull the slide at the bottom of the blaster back and then forward again which flips the barrels around. Ta-da, there you have fully loaded barrels ready to be fired again!
It’s a great little feature and one that might come across as a gimmick at first but, surprisingly, actually works quite well.
The NERF Elite 2.0 Flip-16 Blaster is a tad on the heavy side but it also includes a foldable stock, which does help with the handling.
Overall, the NERF Elite 2.0 Flip-16 Blaster is a great new addition to the range. It’s not perfect but its Flip feature does make you look cool while reloading. It’s a gift that any collector would love to have in their arsenal.
