We all knew that we would get the chance to play as Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor in the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game but now developer Crystal Dynamics has revealed a sixth playable hero, Ms. Marvel.
Along with the reveal, Crystal Dynamics also debuted a new trailer featuring the young heroine. In an interesting twist, it seems Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, received her powers due to the events of A-Day, which saw her being exposed to Terragen mist.
The game will see the player controlling Ms. Marvel, who has polymorphic abilities and advanced healing, five years after the events. It seems that she will be trying her best to get the Avengers back together after they split up.
Crystal Dynamics believes that letting the player experience the events through the eyes of Ms. Marvel will give them a fresh new perspective on the game’s narrative and also the characters we’ve known and loved for years.
On a side note, the developer also revealed that the games’ core campaign will take around 10 to 12 hours to complete but, should you decided to take it slow and explore some of the side missions and other content, it could take as long as 30 hours to finish.
Marvel’s Avengers is set for release next year in May with Crystal Dynamics planning to support the game with new content after the game’s release.
