According to Variety, producers Michael De Luca and Stephen L’Heureux have teamed up with the author of Metro 2033 Dmitry Glukhovsky to work on a movie adaptation of his novel.
The Metro 2033 novel has also spawned two video games, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light.Glukhovsky said, “My novel and I have been waiting for this to happen for the last 10 years”. He also explained why it has taken so long to adapt his novel to film “I have previously been extremely careful about handing my ‘baby’ over to Hollywood producers for adaptation for a feature film, but now I feel it has landed in the right hands. De Luca and L’Heureux have a great vision for this project, and I feel it’s an honor to work with them”
The Metro 2033 novels take place in the future where remnants of humanity have survived World War III by hiding in Moscow’s metro system
