The official The Batman artwork gives fans their first glimpse of Robert Pattinson’s version of Batman, with a high collar and bulky shoulders, the 3D chest bat symbol, and heavy forearm gear. This is very different from the sleek rubber of the Michael Keaton era, the more tactical look of Christian Bale’s Batman, or the marbleized stylisation of Ben Affleck’s version of the character.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader and is set to resume production in September. The exact plot details are currently unavailable, but we do know that The Batman will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector.
Reeves has also suggested that the film will have a connection to the iconic Year One comic book story arc by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, which was published in 1987. Additionally, the movie will feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler.
Starring alongside Pattinson is a stellar supporting cast which includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard.
The Batman is currently scheduled for on October 1, 2021.
