Ever since making his cinematic debut in Marvel’s Avengers, Thanos has become one of the most legendary on-screen villains of all time.
Although we saw the end of the gauntlet wielding, baddie who temporarily disseminated half of all life in the universe in Avengers: Endgame, The Mad Titan continues to play an ongoing part in pop culture. Interestingly, some fans even agreed with his way of thinking – despite how messed up it actually was.
And now, one Marvel super-fan has decided to pay tribute to the character in a very unique way. A woman from the United Kingdom, going only by the screen name Wooly McWoolface, has knitted a gigantic purple Thanos – complete with Infinity Gauntlet.
Her Instagram posts in which she chronicled her progress have since gone viral.
In her final photo, the knitting savant shows off the creation, revealing that it took four months, four kilograms of yarn and a ridiculous amount of stuffing to complete the project.
“He’s finished! 4 months, over 4kg of yarn, a duvet, several pillows and who knows how many bags of stuffing have gone into this guy and he doesn’t even fit in my flat. Taking suggestions for my next life-size project, but, ideally, let’s not go for anything over 7ft this time. Thanks everyone for the support.”
There have been many arts and crafts versions of Thanos doing the rounds online over the years, but Wooly McWoolface’s creation is by far the most epic.
Given his demise at the end of Endgame, we’ve probably seen the last of Thanos on-screen. However, some fans that are hopeful that he’ll return (or get a mention) when The Eternals hits the big screen in 2021.
Meanwhile, you can check out the rest of Wooly McWoolface’s knitted Thanos photos via her Instagram account.
