The new Avengers: Endgame trailer was released by Marvel Studios just minutes before the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The trailer opens with a quick, haunting reminder of all the heroes who’ve been lost; such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Vision, The Wasp, Nick Fury and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The focus then shifts to a gloomy, fog covered New York City with shots of the remaining Avengers in mourning – but also preparing for a much larger fight. “Some people move on, but not us,” says Captain America in a voice-over.
While it’s unclear how much time has passed since the fatal Snap that wiped out half the Earth’s population (and half the Avengers), the short teaser does show us how some of our heroes are doing. Captain America is seen attending a support group for survivors. Tony Stark and Nebula are repairing/working on something (the Iron Man suit?). Black Widow is practising at a gun range. And Thor appears to have travelled to the Soulworld (the last place Thanos was seen in Infinity War).
The closing shot shows the remaining Avengers, led by Captain America, walking through an aeroplane hangar.
It’s not entirely clear who else is in this particular shot, as they appear in silhouette. But it’s safe to say that the remaining heroes (Ant-Man, Captain America, Thor, Nebula, Iron Man, Black Widow, War Machine, Rocket, the Hulk, and Hawkeye) are ready for battle.
