Marvel Characters That Deserve Their Own Movies

Although we are now in the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we’ve seen the likes of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and a number of others added, there are still many quality Marvel characters without their own live-action films or without any representation in the cinematic universe at all. Here is our list of Marvel characters that deserve their own movies… (our list, of course, includes properties owned by FOX and probably Sony).

Nova

Considering that the stars of Guardians of The Galaxy are arguably lesser-known characters than Nova himself, it begs the question, “Why hasn’t Nova been introduced yet?” Well, perhaps the studio has bigger plans for the character down the line. Either way, it would be really great if Nova was introduced to the universe. We’ll take Sam Alexander or Richard Rider.

Nova

Who is he? Randomly chosen to become a member of the Nova Corps until the Annihilation Wave destroyed them all, leaving him imbued with their combined power and guided by the super-intelligent Worldmind computer, Richard Rider wages a one-man battle for justice as Nova.

Who should play him? Garrett Hedlund, Dan Stevens, Richard Madden

Miles Morales (Spider-Man)

Now that we have seen how great Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is, we need a cool Miles Morales too. Of course, we might need to wait a while before he is introduced, but wouldn’t it be awesome? There is no law against there being more than one Spidey.

Miles Morales spider-man

Who is he? Teenager Miles Morales grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, Miles took on the controversial and pressured role of Spider-Man shortly after the death of the original. Morales made his debut against The Kangaroo, much to the surprise and disapproval of many present at the confrontation.

Who should play him? Donald Glover, Tyler James Williams, Alfie Enoch

X-23

Who better replace Wolverine onscreen that Logan’s young clone, X-23? It seems like Bryan Singer and FOX have already approved this idea and we’ll soon get an X-23 film.

x-23

Who is she? When a top-secret program attempted to recreate the original Weapon X experiment that involved Wolverine, they failed to secure a test subject that could survive the bonding of the Adamantium to their skeleton. Doctor Sarah Kinney instead created a female clone using the only available genetic sample from Weapon X, which was damaged. Kinney then acted as the surrogate mother for the clone, and she gave birth to “X-23.”

Who should play her? Dafne Keen

Ms. Marvel

At a time when politicians traffic in anti-Islamic rhetoric, a Muslim-American superhero from Marvel — particularly one as endearing as Kamala — could stand as a bold rejoinder. Plus the comic is one of Marvel’s top-selling digital titles.

ms marvel

Who is she? A bookish, introverted comics fangirl from a strict-but-loving family, Kamala Khan just wants to be a normal teenager — which is made all the more difficult because she also just happens to be an Inhuman with the ability to stretch and contract at will. Ms. Marvel.

Who should play her? Yara Shahidi, Rowan Blanchard

Moon Knight

While the MCU doesn’t necessarily need a Batman-like figure, it would be cool. Enter Moon Knight – Marvel’s Batman.

Moon Knight

Who is he?Marc Spector is a skilled boxer, commando, martial artist, acrobat, gymnast, and pilot. His multiple identities grant him resistance to some psychic assaults.

Who should play him? Antony Starr, Kit Harington

Namor

One of Marvel’s oldest characters, half-Atlantean Namor has been alternately portrayed as a villain and an anti-hero. His first appearance was in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939. He’s a big part of the Fantastic Four mythos, but we’d love to see him back home in the Marvel films.

namor

Who is he? Namor possesses a high level of superhuman strength, enabling him to lift/press up to 100 tons while in contact with water; his strength gradually decreases according to the length of time he is out of the water and can eventually dwindle to no more than slightly above human level. In addition to his great strength, Namor possesses superhuman stamina and durability, a result of his body’s adaptation to underwater pressures.

Who should play him? Luke Evans, Sam Witwer

Black Widow

I’m not sure what the problem is exactly, but Black Widow needs her own movie. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet is odd. She’s kicked ass as a supporting character in many films, throwing her weight around Captain America: Winter Soldier and Civil War. Com’on guys, she really needs her own story. We’d love to see her background play out on the silver screen. It would be great if she shared a film with The Hulk. Their love story would be great for film.

black widow

Who is she? A former KGB agent Natasha Romanova, better known as Black Widow, is one of the best agents S.H.I.E.L.D. has ever had. She’s a longtime member of the Avengers and was a founding member and the only leader of the short-lived Los Angeles-based superteam called the Champions.

Who should play her? Are you kidding me?

Nick Fury

Speaking of which, where’s our Nick Fury movie? We know Samuel L. Jackson would be down for that. After seeing the awesome battle sequence in Winter Soldier, I’m convinced that Nick Fury needs his own film. Plus, we want to know what he has been up to since his disappearance. We know he’s not just chilling on a yacht somewhere. Nick Fury is up to something. He is saving someone somewhere in the world.

nick fury

Who is he?Nicholas Joseph Fury served in World War II as the leader of the Howling Commandos. He later became an agent, and eventually, director, of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury is one of the greatest strategic minds in the world, a born leader and a master of espionage.

Who should play him? Samuel L. Mutha Fing Jackson

Arguably the Fury pictured is the son of Sgt. Fury and the first director of SHIELD. Origin has been told several times that way since the elimination of the Ultimates universe, so we can consider it core cannon.

Moon Knight would be cool to see simply because he’s one of the more obscure characters in the Marvel universe. I would also like to see X-23 get her own movie. But it would be pretty sweet to see X-Force in its own movie as well…Deadpool, Psylocke, Wolverine and Angel.

How about a legit Rogue? Idc if she gets added in to another character’s movie, after all there are so many who deserve one. I just want her character to get the treatment it deserves. That crap from the X-men movies was absolute garbage. The only thing that was similar to comic her was when she was taken and experimented on in Days of Future Past but then that was only in The Rogue Cut. Ugh… I need to stop ranting.
