During the Ubisoft E3 2017 press conference, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto revealed one of the strangest games we have seen in quite some time, Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is set, as the name suggests, in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Rabbits have inadvertently been teleported to the Mushroom Kingdom while trying to travel through time. This has unleashed all sorts of chaos. It’s up to Mario to join forces with the Rabbits as they try to restore order.
The game incorporates many of the mechanics found in the latest XCOM games, as players control each hero separately in turn based battles. Players will be able to customise their heroes with different weapons allowing them to perform different attacks. Combining the nostalgia of the Mario franchise with the zaniness of the Rabbids series might sound completely bonkers, but it seems to strangely work.
