Fans were most excited when Wizards of the Coast revealed an epic crossover between Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons last year. The announcement (the first time these two brands have mashed) was well-received by both communities.
Now, after a lengthy wait, the publisher has finally revealed some of the collectable cards from the upcoming collection.
The card set, named Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, will be arriving in the next few months and brings with it the various monsters, characters and items from the world of Dungeons & Dragons to Magic: The Gathering.
As you can see from the Summer of Legend Livestream video above, the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons set is quite big and includes new set boosters and collector boosters, themed boosters for each colour, four new Commander format decks, plus a bonus unannounced type of themed booster.
Not only does the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set include uniquely styled Dungeons & Dragons lands but there are also the expected iconic magic items (such as the portable hole and the Vorpal Sword) too. Naturally, you can’t have a Magic set without monsters and the new Dungeons & Dragons crossover set includes some familiar monsters such as the Beholder and the Dragon Tiamat.
The cards will also be available to use in the online games, the Magic: the Gathering Arena and Magic Online.
