Yesterday, 28th October 2015, Logitech hosted media and distribution partners to experience “a day of colour, boldness and versatility” to launch their latest Ultimate Ears (UE) speakers.
The event was held at Soweto’s Orlando Towers, where guests were treated to a number of outdoor activities to showcases the products’ versatility out in the open as well as social connectivity amongst groups. These events including a colour run, freefall, rock-climbing, foam hunt, and bungee jumping. Each of the events were related to a specific task, each of which gave the opportunity to win one of the speakers launched on the day.
The products launched on the day were the UE ROLL, UE BOOM 2, and UE MEGABOOM, which will go on sale later this week with prices at R1500*, R3000*, and R5000*, respectively. Each product from the line-up has IPX7-rated waterproofing, and have a charge of 9, 15, and 20 hours, respectively, of playback. In addition, the units are extremely rugged, being able to drop onto the floor without any damage. The UE ROLL has a wireless range of 65ft, whereas the UE BOOM 2 and UE MEGABOOM both have a wireless range of 100ft. Using the UE app (for Android and iOS), users can pair multiple devices, while streaming to two different UE devices at the same time. While the units do come in a variety of colour options, it is worth noting that customisation options are open to creativity, as showcased on the day by an artist painting different themes onto the many devices on show.
