Sad news for fans of the Fable series and the studio behind them Lionhead Studios, as Microsoft has announced that Fable Legends has been cancelled.
It was also revealed that the fate of Lionhead studios now also hangs in the balance.
Hanno Lemke, General manager at Microsoft studios Europe had the following to say in a post on Xbox Wire: “After much consideration we have decided to cease development of Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK” he continued “Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville”.
The news comes as Microsoft continues to shift their focus on the investment and development of games as well as franchises that fans are most excited to play.
