Dotemu has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming action brawler Streets of Rage 4, showcasing the game’s much-touted four-player co-op, which is a first for the series.
The 90-second teaser also revealed a brand new character named Floyd Iraia, a cybernetic fighter, who will be joining returning characters Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding and Adam Hunter. Floyd seems to be quite the powerhouse, thanks to his cybernetically enhanced arms.
Based on what we have seen so far, Streets of Rage 4 will have all the action you would expect from the long-running franchise. And, thanks to its stunning hand-drawn 2D visuals, it is sure to attract the attention of fans.
The fourth instalment will also have a soundtrack that features music from Yūzō Koshiro, who worked on the previous titles, and Motohiro Kawashima, who worked on Streets of Rage 3 and Shinobi 2.
The original game first released way back in 1991, followed by two more games. Although the third game did not receive the same acclaim as its predecessors, fans, including myself, have always hoped to see the franchise make a return.
