Former Lionhead Employees have announced their latest project, a whimsical sandbox adventure titled Kynseed.
After the closure of Lionhead, the studio behind the Fable series, a group of former employees got together and formed their own new studio PixelCount. Kynseed is the studio’s first game and it’s shaping up to look like it could be something special.
Much like the critical acclaimed Stradew Valley, the game sees players spending their days farming, exploring and making new friends. What sets Kynseed apart is that each character will remember your actions (be they good or bad) until that faithful day that they pass away. When your own character finally sets off to their final resting place players will then take control of their children. Effectively continuing through the story with each passing generation.
It’s a really interesting premise, and from what we’ve seen the game looks gorgeous.
PixelCount is currently seeking to fund the game through Kickstarter and is hoping to raise $38,850. There is currently only a PC version planned but stretch goals for other platforms have been added.
