Considering that most people hold the original Jumanji in such high regard, it was always going to be difficult to do a sequel, especially one without Robin Williams. Of course, that won’t stop Hollywood. The second trailer for Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is somehow more cringy than the first.
Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas and Bobby Cannavale head up the sequel (it’s not a reboot) to 1995’s CGI phenomenon Jumanji. In a world full of reboots that nobody asked for, this is probably high on everyone’s list. They’ve changed a lot of the tone and the board game has been exchanged for a modern videogame. Worst of all, the CGI doesn’t seem that great either.
Sony hasn’t exactly been on a roll of late and Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle doesn’t look like it’s going to change things.
In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…
