For those who don’t know, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick, aka Baba Yaga/The Boogeyman, was first named Jardani Jovonovich. The lethal killer once lived a simple life in a small town in Belarus. While John Wick 3: Chapter 3 – Parabellum offered a little more information on his backstory, there isn’t much known about the life of Jardani Jovonovich. Until now.
A new fan film, just under three minutes in length, titled An Invitation For John Wick, shows the small farming village he grew up in before he was taken in by the Tarasov Russian Mafia and raised as an assassin. Of course, it’s suitably humourous. There’s no real information in the clip, just clever references to Keanu’s other work and the beautiful backdrop of Belarus.
VOKA Smartfilm has created the video as an invitation for Keanu Reeves to attend their International Mobile Phone Film Festival.
The actor is currently shooting The Matrix 4. But, seeing as he is such a nice guy, it’s not impossible for him to actually show up at the awards.
