Since the first sneaker rolled off the production line back in 1987, the Nike Air Max has seen numerous iterations, collaborations and exclusives over the years. JD has announced the release of their exclusive Air Max 270 in a Navy colourway, which launches today.
Nike launches the Air Max 270 today, released in stores across the globe after they dropped a sneak preview in November last year. The team partnered with Kevin Durant, who debuted the sneaker prior to taking to the court, which sent the sneaker community into a frenzy on the dates of the release.
The silhoutte drops alongside various other colourways including White + Black, Black/Anth + White, Olive/Black + White and…The Black/Light Bone. The 270 name is derived from the nickname the Air Max 93 received, which referred to the 270° of pure visible Air on the shoe.
The design of the Air Max 270 features a Punch coloured heel unit, which features the tallest air heel unit ever released by Nike. At 32mm, that’s a lot of Air for support. Durant, with his size 18 shoe, gave even more Air than conventional shoe sizes.
The upper of the 270 was designed by Marie Odinot as the first Nike shoe to be 100% designed for use as a lifestyle shoe from the offset, which also includes a premium tooling design beside the ‘detachable’ Air look.
The JD exclusive Nike Air Max 270 is available for purchase via their website for £115, and is guaranteed to be one of the biggest sales of the year.
