South African geeks were greeted with terrible news today when it was revealed that Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa will no longer be attending Comic Con Africa. Due to scheduling conflicts, Momoa, who plays Game of Thrones‘ Khal Drogo, has had to withdraw from appearing at Kyalami International Convention Center this year.
Taking to their official Twitter account, Comic Con Africa announced that Momoa had to withdraw from the event “due to an unforeseen filming schedule change”:

There are many fans who have bought tickets solely to see the star at the Comic Con event who will be bitterly disappointed. He is notably the biggest star announced for the three-day event in September. Earlier this month, Comic Con announced that American Gods actors Yetide Badaki and Ricky Whittle had been added to the event line-up. Unfortunately, they’re not nearly as popular.
While one guest certainly doesn’t make the event, his presence will surely be missed.
