A new clip from Universal Pictures features actor/comedian Jack Black introducing us to his latest project, The House With A Clock In Its Walls.
The reviews for Eli Roth’s The House With A Clock In Its Walls are slowly beginning to trickle in and some critics are calling it an adequate early Halloween treat for the whole family.
Based on the beloved 1973 novel by John Bellairs, the fantasy gothic horror film basically features Jack Black for the younger ones and Cate Blanchett for the adults. Roth has gone on to describe it as a “gateway horror film for kids” and a cool homage to films from the ’80s. The Gremlins, E.T., and Back to the Future as some of the influences.
As a special treat, IMAX viewers will also be the first to see a digitally remastered 3D version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” before the film (in certain cinemas across the globe). While The House With A Clock In Its Walls might not be in 3D, IMAX believes that the film and the music video are a suitable match for the big screen. You’ll have to act quickly though as the music video will be featured alongside the film for one week only.
The House With A Clock In Its Walls follows 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.
