A new trailer for SIE Bend Studio’s not-a-zombie/zombie-shooter-scavenging-crafting/action-adventure-survival-horror game, Days Gone, shows just what a harsh world awaits players when it releases.
The latest story trailer for Sony’s Days Gone also drops a few hints and story beats. It’s clear that the game’s protagonist, Deacon St. John, doesn’t only have the titular Freakers to fear but his fellow humans as well.
We also get a glimpse of some kind of government agency decked out in hazmat suits. Who these people are, however, isn’t quite clear. All we know as that they seem heavily armed and know how to deal with the game’s Freakers.
Although the game does look like it is action-packed and loads of fun, we do hope that the game has a deeper story and does not just involve Freaker shooting.
A global pandemic occurred which decimated the globe, turning millions of humans into feral cannibalistic creatures, called Freakers. The remnants of humanity have abandoned towns to seek refuge in the wilderness creating safe zones. Deacon St. John, a member of Mongrel MC, is among the survivors of the epidemic.
Although the trailer does get us excited for the game, it does leave more questions than answers. Hopefully, we can find out just exactly why the world of Sony’s Days Gone has gone to hell when the game finally releases exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on the 26th of April 2019.
