Just a week ago, we covered the confirmation of Samsung’s folding smartphone, the Galaxy F. In a strange turn of events, Samsung’s CEO, DJ Koh, officially confirmed the rumoured Galaxy F, without any device to show off. This week, things have hotted up in the foldable smartphone rumour mill, which makes the Samsung announcement all the more logical, trying to get ahead of the pack. That said, this week’s rumour comes from a surprising brand, the Apple iPhone.
We’re just weeks away from the launch of the all-new Apple iPhone smartphone and there’s been rumours aplenty. The rumoured device, the iPhone X Flex, a foldable smartphone has been treated to a concept designer’s view on what such a device would look like. Although the device may not launch this year at the official Apple event in September, we know that Apple have been working on a folding OLED screen and even filed a patent way back in February 2017.
The latest on the rumour comes in the form of a video featuring a look at the folding technology in action. The video comes courtesy of YouTube channel TechConfigurations, known for their depictions and mock-ups of upcoming devices.
Some other rumours on the hardware inside the latest iPhone smartphone, whether it be the iPhone Flex or not, includes a 5″ screen with 4K QHD AMOLED dual display. The Flex, however, will be able to operate at a 5″ or 8″ screen, depending on whether its folded or not. This means that the device will be able to operate as both a smartphone and a tablet. The device will also feature a triple rear camera array (12+12+20MP), a 7MP front-facing camera, and a whopping 8,500mAh internal battery, and sporting the A13 CPU and 8GB RAM.
As always, these are just rumours, and nothing’s official until it is.
