At an event hosted at The Urban Tree, Eastgate Business Park in Johannesburg, Huawei hosted media, sales partners and some VIP for the South African launch of the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
The P series continues Huawei’s flagship range, and picks up right where the P9 left off with the brilliant and well-received Leica dual-camera, which has been significantly improved for latest flagship. With an amazing array of modes, features, and options to reproduce breathtaking portrait photography, the P10 will definitely be another popular smartphone for the company.
A short time back, Huawei announced the start of the pre-order period, today marking the official availability of the handset to the public. The devices will retail for R12,999 for the P10 and the P10 Plus for R13,999. Both devices will be available in South Africa from Friday, 12th May 2017.
The Huawei P10 features a 5.1″ display with 1080p resolution. The unit sports Kirin 960 – 4x Cortex A73 2.4GHz + 4x Cortex A53 1.8GHz CPU, with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. The unit has 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage, a 3,200mAh battery, and supports dual-SIM. The unit will also be available in a host of different colours with the newly designed and crafted “hyper diamon-cut” metal body (assists in protecting the device from nicks and scratches), which has a premium feel to boot. Most importantly, the P10 sports the Leica dual-camera 2.0, which has a 12MP colour sensor alongside the 20MP monochrome sensor.
The main differences between the Plus is that the Plus is available in 256GB internal storage, with a battery capacity of 3,750mAh, with a 5.5″ display.
