Earlier today, Wednesday, 8th April 2015, at an event at Ten Bompas Hotel, Johannesburg, HTC launched their new flagship, the HTC One M9 in South Africa. Although the device will only see official availability to the public in June 2015, attendees of the event enjoyed hands-on experience with the device. Neeraj Seth, Head of Marketing, HTC MEA, along with his colleagues were in attendance to present the flagship, along with the soon to be released “Let Them Stare” ad campaign.
On looks alone, the M9 is one of the standout smartphones, with innards that’s sure to impress as well. Despite the company not placing much emphasis on what lies beneath, focusing instead on the more social and UX features, the unit still packs a punch with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, which has a 64-bit processor (Quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2GHz Cortex-A57), and Adreno 430 GPU. The unit also sports 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 20.7MP rear-facing camera, 4MP front-facing camera that’s among the best in the business, and Li-Po 2840mAh battery. From the few minutes I spent with the handset, I’m definitely looking forward to reviewing the unit over the next few weeks, so do stay tuned for that.
The HTC One M9 will be available soon from major networks and dealers
