After the recent release of the divisive Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima, the game’s developer, has indicated that he might want to return to the horror genre for his next project.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Kojima shows an interest in the genre as he was the mind behind the scary as hell PT, which was supposed to evolve into the next Silent Hill game. Unfortunately, the project was canned after Kojima left Konami, and both he and Norman Reedus, who was set to star, moved onto the sci-fi epic, Death Stranding.
In a recent tweet, Kojima mentions that he will be preparing himself to develop the scariest horror game by looking at some of the scariest horror movies out there. One such film is called The Eye, and is apparently so scary that Kojima couldn’t finish watching it. The Death Stranding developer has admitted in the past that he struggles to watch horror movies but, judging from PT, he has no problem developing them.
As to make the scariest horror game, I’ll watch the scary movies in order to awaken my horror soul. THE EYE is the Thai horror movie I rent when making PT but was too scary to finish watching. The package is scary so I rented the disc only. Will I be able to finish watching? pic.twitter.com/BVwPruUAvt

Say what you will about Hideo Kojima, call him crazy or overrated, but he seems to have a knack for horror and film. Even Death Stranding had moments of terror. Personally, we can’t wait to see what his creative mind comes up with.
