Finally, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, Diablo fans will be able to dive back into the demon-infested world of Sanctuary in Diablo IV.
After showing an extensive cinematic trailer during Blizzcon 2019, Diablo IV was announced to the crowd with loud cheers.
According to Blizzard, the game will revolve around three pillars; darkness, world and legacy.
The cinematic trailer features an adventuring party who finds themselves in a bit of a pinch after resurrecting Lilith.
Yes, Lillith is back just like the leaks hinted and she is the main big bad in the game.
Along with the cinematic trailer, a gameplay trailer also confirmed that the Barbarian, sorceress and druid will be returning classes.
The game will go back to it’s dark and bloody roots, as confirmed by game director Luis Barriga. “The first thing you will notice is we are going back to the franchise’s darker roots. It’ll mean blood and gore. It’ll mean occult symbols and rituals. More importantly, it’ll mean victories are neither clean nor guaranteed.”
The gameplay trailer does confirm that, unlike the previous game, the next Diablo will feature a much darker colour pallet, which is something fans of the series will no doubt be very happy with. Also, you’ll be able to make uses of horses when travelling across the game’s world, which should make getting from point A to B even more fun.
As a fan of the series, it’s great to see it returning to its darker roots. Let’s hope that the long wait will be worth it.
A Diablo IV released date or window hasn’t been confirmed but we do know that the game will be coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
