Nintendo revealed that a sequel to the competitive frisbee game Windjammers simply titled Windjammers 2 will be heading to the Nintendo Switch and PC.
The prequel to Windjammers 2 originally released way back in 1994 by Data East and saw players competing in fast-paced, competitive frisbee matches. Although no gameplay of the sequel has been revealed, we were treated to a radical neon-coloured trailer featuring some truly bodacious and totally awesome dudes and dudettes. What little we do know is that the title sets out to combine everything fans loved about the original and will include hand-drawn 2D animation. If anything the 2D trailer has gotten us hyped to play the game. Who knew competitive frisbee matches could be so action-packed? Plus, the trailer reminds me of an ’80s Saturday morning cartoon which is always a great start.
The original game was recently remade for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita by Dotemu, the same studio behind the sequel.
Windjammers 2 is set for release on the Nintendo Switch and PC on the 23rd of October 2018, which is just around the corner. Now excuse me while I go and brush up on my frisbee throwing skills.
