The moment is finally here. NetherRealm has revealed their next Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 11, and fans will be happy to know that it is just as good and bloody as they had hoped.
During the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal, NetherRealm made a few announcements about the game, showed off an awesome collectors edition, and showed what everyone came to see, the game’s brutal and gory gameplay. The developer announced that there would be different variations of fighters that players will be able to customise with different costume pieces (think Injustice 2), intros and more.
The official Mortal Kombat 11 trailer was also shown and features some of the Klassic fighters we all love, including Baraka, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang and Sonya. We also get a glimpse of Scarlet, who was a fighter in the Mortal Kombat 9 DLC. Of course, there are also loads of gory fatalities which shows that NetherRealm will once again push the envelope when it comes to their gruesome finish moves.
Along with the official trailer, the game’s story prologue was also shown. The trailer gives players an idea of what to expect from the game’s narrative.
It was also revealed that ex-MMA fighter and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey would be voicing a fan-favourite character, Sonya Blade.
The game will be getting a must-have collectors edition that not only includes a steelbook, but also what looks to be a very detailed Scorpion mask. Pre-ordering the game gets you Shao Khan and access to the beta, which will take place on the 28th of March 2019.
All in all, Mortal Kombat 11 looks just as fast-paced, gory and stunning as we had hoped. Now we just have to wait for the game to release on the 23rd of April 2019 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
